What Is the Novastar Hybrid Program?

The Novastar Hybrid Middle School Program (Grades 6–8) is a blended-learning model that combines structured on-campus elective days with a flexible online core curriculum — designed for students who need more control over their schedule without sacrificing academic quality.

Students complete core academics online through the Strong Mind curriculum on their own schedule, and come to campus for hands-on elective classes, project-based learning, and community. They receive official report cards and transcripts — everything they need for high school admission and beyond.

Could the Hybrid Program Work for Your Family?

If your child's schedule, health, or learning style makes a traditional five-day school week difficult to sustain — the Hybrid Program was built for families like yours.

Whether your child needs scheduling flexibility, thrives with self-paced learning, or simply does better outside a traditional classroom environment, Novastar's blended model gives them the structure and credentials of a real school — on a schedule that actually works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child get a real transcript?

1

Yes. Novastar issues official report cards and transcripts every grading period. Your child's academic record is fully recognized for high school admission.

Is there tuition for the Hybrid Program?

2

No tuition. Families pay a registration fee, technology fee, and field trip fees when applicable. Optional on-campus program fees may apply. Contact us for current fee amounts.

When can I enroll?

3

Colorado open enrollment Round 2 is open now and closes in March. We are building a founding cohort of just 30 students — after Round 2 closes, remaining spots are filled on a rolling basis.

How does the blended schedule work?

4

Students come to campus on designated elective days for hands-on, project-based learning. On non-campus days, they complete core academics online through the Strong Mind platform at their own pace. Digital attendance is tracked on all off-campus school days.

Does my child need to comply with Colorado homeschool laws?

5

No — Hybrid Program students are enrolled directly with Novastar as their school of record. You do not need to file a Notice of Intent or manage testing independently. Novastar handles compliance, attendance tracking, and transcripts.

How many days per week does my child need to be on campus?
